Natural screening to regain one’s space

Juliet wanted a scheme to detract the eye and create new vistas and areas of privacy:

    • Restore native hedge and utilise existing evergreen hedging to create a secondary year round boundary
    • Mirror the symmetry of the original ‘cartwheel’ tree planting with a series of half moon copses and hedges to create privacy and interest
    • Open up opportunities to utilise other areas of the garden as the planting establishes itself

What way once a rural scene; an agricultural yard with outbuildings has morphed into a housing development with imposing houses overlooking what was a very private garden.

“The development has left me bereft as our oasis and privacy has been taken away. We did take action to regain some privacy, but it became clear that we needed more. Andy created a solution that has made a real difference. His design ideas built on an existing natural art installation and has incorporated a series of copses and hedge lines to soften the impact of the new build.”
