Who we are

Second Nature Gardens is a bespoke Somerset-based garden design and gardening company operating out of Bath and the stunning Chew Valley. We are dedicated to offering friendly and flexible support. Andy, the founder, established Spoonfed Gardens on 26th March 2020, the first day of Covid19 lockdown.

As a business we have gone from strength to strength, largely because Andy has found his “IKIGAI” – a concept that embodies the idea of pursuing a balanced life where passion, mission, vocation and profession meet.

Making the transition from catering to horticulture, garden design and creating gardens, Andy felt it was appropriate to rename the business Second Nature Gardens.

With Andy’s vision, passion and patience my garden has been transformed and repurposed, creating new external spaces for us to enjoy, as well as enhancing the views for our enjoyment

Our philosophy

We maintain a burning passion for organic growth both in our gardens, our clients’ connection with their outdoor space, and our own ongoing learning and knowledge. Over time this has become second nature.

Conscience

With every garden we prepare we actively target low impact gardening to reduce our carbon footprint and aim to create sustainable gardens that contribute towards a better environment.

Connection

Relationships are one of life’s most important asset. They create a symbiotic web that supports growth, health and overall wellbeing. The same is true with ecosystems within the garden with species depend on each other for survival.

Curious

We believe that curiosity is the driving force behind our growth as gardeners.  With each new season, this constant pursuit of growth and learning adds new depths to our craft.

Garden-making, like gardening itself, concerns the relationship of the human being to his natural surroundings

The Experience

We want each project and garden to be a rewarding experience and aim to build a collaborative partnership. Working with us means more than just creating a garden; it’s about cultivating a meaningful experience that enriches life and fosters a deeper connection to nature.

The Team

We actively seek collaboration and partnerships with like-minded organisations and individuals who share our commitment to delivering for our clients. By working together, we have the flexibility to match our team to each project.

Together, we work with passion, energy and a sense of fun
