Boundaries, screens and terraces

Key Information

  • With the client having renovated the old stables into self-catering accommodation, we needed to reinstate boundaries, ensure privacy and create outdoor spaces to entertain for both the owner and their guests to enjoy.

  • Client Brief
    • Create screen to separate Mill Place from Stable accommodation
    • Defined garden and seating area for Stables accommodation
    • Defined garden and seating area for Mill Place (south facing garden)

We began with a construction site of compacted soil and rubble. Our goal was to minimise environmental impact by reusing materials on-site and creating a natural corridor between the two area. The planting included a mixture of pollinator fruiting trees including Malus ‘Evereste‘  and Amelanchier lamarckii ‘Snowy Meslip’. We planted the understory with shrubs and perennials that flowed into the established woodland.

“Andy started with a vision for our scheme, creating and then execute his design using our existing contractors. He took the stress out of the build and followed on with a fabulous planting plan that provided interest from year one. We have seen the garden mature this year as Andy and his team have nurtured the new plantings and extended their reach into other areas of the garden.”
